Galfand Berger Sponsors Memorial Fund Golf Outing

June 5, 2013 – On April 27, 2013, the Lacey Gallagher Memorial Scholarship Fund held their 6th Annual Golf Outing. The Lacey Fund is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to high school students. Galfand Berger participated in this event by sponsoring a hole at the golf outing.

Lacey Gallagher, 18, was killed in a teen driving auto accident on the night of her senior prom in 2007. In October of 2011, legislation was passed in her name toughening teen driving laws. Lacey’s Law has quite literally buckled down on teen driving. The law increases the number of hours of behind-the-wheel training teens must have, puts restrictions on the number of passengers a teen may have in his or her car and mandates seatbelt use.

The Lacey Gallagher Memorial Scholarship Fund was set up in Lacey’s honor because of her love for learning. The scholarship goes to deserving students entering Catholic high schools who value community spirit, good sportsmanship, and academics, just as Lacey did. Galfand Berger is proud to support such a worthy cause.
