  • 2020’s Camp Out for Hunger Campaign: Biggest Donation so Far!

Philadelphia personal injury lawyers discuss 2020’s camp out for hunger campaign: biggest donation so far!Every year, Galfand Berger employees participate in local radio station 93.3 WMMR’s “Camp Out for Hunger” campaign. All food donations go to Philabundance, a hunger-relief organization based out of the Delaware valley. Our firm has been participating in the Camp Out for Hunger food drive for the last decade. We are so proud to announce that this year we broke our previous record of 737 pounds of food and donated a whopping 1,573 pounds.

Since the Camp Out for Hunger campaign first began in the late 90s, donations have steadily increased each year. Last year, WMMR donated a staggering 2,670,860 pounds of food and $200,000 to Philabundance. As the largest single-location food drive in the United States, the campaign aims to not only reduce food insecurity but also to take strides toward ending hunger for good. Tackling food insecurity is a major task. In 2019, Philabundance (and its member agencies) donated a total of 26 million pounds of food to community members in need.

Being food insecure means not knowing when or where your next meal is coming from. Food insecurity affects people of all ages, races, religions, genders, and from all different walks of life. This year, with high unemployment rates resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a greater number of people are struggling to make ends meet than ever before. The good news is that we can all do our part to help make a difference. Even if you missed out on donating to WMMR’s Camp Out for Hunger campaign, you can still make a donation to Philabundance. Every little bit helps. The organization serves an average of 90,000 people each week.

The campaign runs through November 25th. People can make donations at their local ACME grocery stores.  If you do not have time to donate to the Camp Out for Hunger campaign, do not worry! You can still make a donation to Philabundance. Every dollar donated helps provide two meals to someone in need.

We want to thank our wonderful employees! Without them, we could never have broken our previous records and made our largest donation ever this year.
