Martha J. Hampton Memorial Award Presented to Jason Krasno
On April 15, 2016 the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and Michael McGurrin, a partner at Galfand Berger, presented the 2016 Martha J. Hampton Award to attorney Jason Krasno.
Mr. Krasno, a partner at his own firm, has practiced Workers’ Compensation law since 2000. Although Mr. Krasno is the first award recipient to not have met Martha Hampton, he embodies her professional characteristics: extraordinary professionalism, exceptional advocacy and commitment to civility and integrity in the practice of law.
The Martha J. Hampton Memorial award honors former Galfand Berger partner, Martha Hampton, who was committed to the practice of Workers’ Compensation law. Martha’s interests went beyond the individual cases she litigated. Martha believed in the viability and importance of the Workers’ Compensation section of the Bar Association. She was a past president of the section and participated in activities as varied as writing informative articles for the Legal Intelligencer to testifying before subcommittees in Harrisburg on proposed legislation.
In honor of the Martha J. Hampton Award, the law firm of Galfand Berger, LLP makes a charitable contribution — on the Section’s behalf and in honor of the award recipient — to Kids’ Chance, an organization that helps youngsters who have lost a parent due to a work related injury gain a higher level of education.
Galfand Berger proudly founded Kids’ Chance and encourages youngsters or their families to apply for a scholarship from this organization. You can find more information here: Kids’ Chance Scholarship Application.
