Norman Weinstein Appointed Trustee to the American Jewish Committee

In May, Galfand Berger attorney, Norman Weinstein, joined the Board of Trustees at the American Jewish Committee (AJC).

The AJC is an organization dedicated to ensuring the well-being of Jews across the world by working towards ending anti-Semitism and supporting peace and security in Israel. In addition, the committee works to promote and advance human rights worldwide. Working hard to build long-lasting relationships between people of different faiths and ethnic backgrounds is a goal which aligns with Norman’s own motives. Norman felt the AJC’s “community building skills and mission for greater understanding of the issue involving Israel” were essential in his eagerness to participate.

Norman has also been previously involved with the AJC’s Latino-Jewish Coalition. In 2014, the AJC’s Latino-Jewish Coalition hosted the “Crossing Boundaries Symposium: Latinos and Jews as Diaspora Communities” which was open to the public through advanced registration. The event included two expert speakers and a video debut of three Philadelphia immigration stories by History Making Productions. This event and others like it spur the community into forming the alliances that will last and make Philadelphia and New Jersey stronger and more understanding as communities.

Apart from assisting the Latino-Jewish Coalition, Norman will liaison to the honorary consul of England. As he begins a new chapter with the AJC, he believes “simply help[ing] is some small way to further the mission of the organization.”

The AJC’s mission as well as other information about the AJC can be found via their website by clicking here.
