Martha J. Hampton Memorial Award Presented to Niki Ingram

On May 5, 2017, the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association presented the 2017 Martha J. Hampton Award to attorney Niki Ingram.

The Martha J. Hampton Memorial award honors former Galfand Berger partner, Martha Hampton, who was committed to the practice of Workers’ Compensation law.

Michael McGurrin, a partner at Galfand Berger, talked about Martha.  He noted that her interests went beyond the individual cases she litigated. Martha believed in the viability and importance of the Workers’ Compensation section of the Bar Association. She was a past president of the section and participated in activities as varied as writing informative articles for the Legal Intelligencer to testifying before subcommittees in Harrisburg on proposed legislation.

Ms.  Ingram, a Shareholder at Marshall Dennehey, is the director of that firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department.  She graduated with distinction from Smith College and received her juris doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.   Ms. Ingram has worked in the public interest sector, for the government, and in the private sector.  Her practice mirrors Martha Hampton’s professional characteristics:  extraordinary professionalism, exceptional advocacy, and commitment to civility and integrity in the practice of law.

In honor of the Martha J.
