  • Labor Day 2014:  Proudly March

As a proud proponent of workers’ rights, Galfand Berger has a long history of advocating for the Labor Rights Movement as well as defending the rights of workers and individuals alike.

In support of this mission, Galfand Berger is committed to highlighting events aimed at honoring labor this upcoming Labor Day.

    • On Sunday, August 31, USW Local 2599 will celebrate with the Steelworkers & Friends Labor Day Parade. It begins at 11:00AM at the lot located at Main and Spring Streets in Bethlehem, PA.
    • On Monday, September 1st, the United Labor Council of Reading and Berks County will hold its 27th annual Labor Day parade (rain or shine). The parade will begin at 10:00 AM at the intersection of Eighth and Penn Streets in Reading, PA and ends with a celebration at First Energy Stadium.   The stadium celebration includes food and beverage vendors with an awards ceremony beginning at 1:00 PM.

On this day, remember, it was the union movement which gave us fair wages, fair working hours, an end to sweatshops and child labor, health benefits and safe working conditions.  If you attend either event, march proudly and don’t forget to wear your union colors!
