Each year, the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association (PBA) presents the Martha J. Hampton award to the attorney or judge who best exemplifies the qualities that were of the utmost importance to Martha: living her life compassionately and with a steadfast dedication to the ideals of workers’ compensation law. This year’s recipient of the award is Judge Tina Rago.
Before her passing, Martha was a partner at Galfand Berger. Hailed as a role model for her scholarship, goodwill, and professionalism by the PBA, it is without doubt that Martha left a lasting impact on not only her friends and loved ones, but on the entire legal community as well. Martha was also instrumental in the formation of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association. The Section gives attorneys the opportunity to expand their skill sets and to learn how to better serve their communities.
Judge Tina Rago is a deserving recipient of this coveted honor. Throughout her career, she has epitomized the Martha J. Hampton award through her fairness, goodwill, and legal acumen. In addition to the Section’s yearly selection of a worthy recipient to honor with the Martha J. Hampton award, our firm, on behalf of the Section, makes a charitable contribution to Kid’s Chance. Kid’s Chance is a non-profit organization that provides direct assistance to children and teens who lost a parent or caregiver in a preventable work-related incident so that they can achieve a higher education. Please join us in congratulating the Honorable Judge Tina Rago for being this year’s recipient of the highly acclaimed Martha J. Hampton award!
