Partners Mike McGurrin and Brad Smith attended the 38th Annual Workers’ Memorial Day Program hosted by PhilaPOSH on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Sheet Metal Workers Union Hall in Philadelphia.
The program, held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 1301 S. Columbus Blvd, brought together labor leaders, advocates, and community members to honor workers who have been killed, injured, or made ill on the job.
This year’s theme focused on honoring lives lost to workplace incidents while renewing the fight for safer working conditions. The event included a memorial service, wreath-laying ceremony, and a call to action for stronger workplace safety standards and enforcement.
Workers’ Memorial Day is officially observed on April 28 each year, with events like this one taking place throughout the week to raise awareness and promote worker protections.
PhilaPOSH (the Philadelphia Area Project on Occupational Safety and Health) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for safe and healthy working conditions, particularly for vulnerable and underserved workers.
Galfand Berger has proudly stood on the side of labor and working people since 1947, representing injured workers and fighting to hold employers accountable. McGurrin and Smith’s attendance reflects that longstanding commitment and continued support for initiatives that advance workplace safety and justice.
