Gabriela Raful, a Senior Partner at Galfand Berger, recently appeared on the Dominican Association of Pennsylvania’s radio program. Conducted entirely in Spanish, Gabby discussed the rights of injured victims with the show’s hosts and listeners.
Gabby is from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. As a native Spanish speaker, Gabby’s clients do not have to worry about language barriers that so often create difficulties – even if they speak little to no English. As an advocate for both injured workers and immigrants, Gabby gave listeners a breakdown of injured victims’ rights. For example, whether you were injured at work or in an automobile accident, people have the right to receive treatment and compensation.
The Dominican Association of PA is a non-profit organization based out of Reading, Pennsylvania. The association is committed to guiding and educating the Dominican community (and the Latino community at large) by securing their rights and promoting the ideals of civic duty, social responsibility, morality, and respect. As one of our firm’s Senior Partners, Gabby strives to secure the rights of injured workers and disabled individuals. She represents clients who file workers’ compensation, personal injury, products liability, and social security disability claims.
Gabby has also been an active voice for immigrant communities. She once organized Reading’s “Day Without an Immigrant” march that garnered over 3,000 attendees rallying for immigrant rights. Gabby is also active with the Berks County Bar Association (BCBA), where she serves as the Chair of the Minority Law Section. In 2017, the BCBA awarded Gabby with its Presidential Award of Merit because of the extensive pro bono and community-based work she has done.
