  • Philadelphia Products Liability Lawyers: Fast Track Product Recall

Dunkin’ Donuts Glass Tumblers Pose Laceration and Burn Hazard

Fast Track Product RecallA fast track product recall has been launched nationwide, pulling Dunkin’ Donuts-brand glass tumblers from the market because they pose a laceration and burn risk to consumers.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC) put forth the recall just last week. So far, Dunkin’ Donuts has been complying voluntarily. More than 8,000 of the glass tumblers are in the hands of consumers, and per the recall’s orders, should be discontinued from use and immediately returned to a Dunkin’ Donuts location.

There have been nearly 20 reports of the glass tumblers either breaking or cracking while in use. Although no injuries have been documented yet, the product poses a serious enough danger to require a fast track recall. The risks are lacerations or burns to consumer’s hands or body. Luckily for consumers, the recall is taking place quickly. That said, it is important to be extremely careful because of the product’s danger.

The USCPSC’s recall pertains to Dunkin’ Donuts 16 ounce glass tumblers that can be used for hot or cold beverages. There are three different styles of the tumbler that consumers should immediately return to a Dunkin’ Donuts location. The company has promised to issue full refunds to consumers that bring the recalled glass tumblers back into their stores.

The tumblers were sold between September and November of 2016. If you believe that you may have purchased one of the Dunkin’ Donuts glass tumblers, you should discontinue using it right away and consider bringing it back to receive a refund for the full, product price. Hopefully, the recall has been issued in a timely manner that protects consumers from burns or lacerations. However, if you have suffered any sort of injury because of this defective product, please do not hesitate to call Galfand Berger, LLP with any of your questions or concerns.
