    Gabriela Raful Joins Berks County Community Foundation’s Board of Directors

The BCCF’s mission is to promote philanthropy and to improve the quality of life for the residents of Berks County. The Board of Directors helps to secure the organization’s mission by distributing grants, setting strategic goals, and investing funds directly into its surrounding community.

    Charity and Community Work

    Gabby has an extensive history of charitable and community-based work. Nearly 15 years ago she helped organize the “Day Without an Immigrant” march in Reading, Pennsylvania. More than 3,000 people attended the rally and fought to secure immigrant rights. In 2017, the Berks County Bar Association awarded her with its coveted Presidential Award of Merit. To this day, Gabby still serves as Chair of the association’s Minority Law Section. Because she provided free legal services to disadvantaged and indigent individuals, the Pennsylvania Bar Association also awarded Gabby with its 2019 Pro Bono Award.

    As a native of the Dominican Republic, Gabby is fluent in English and Spanish. She works with our Spanish-speaking clients in their native language.  They do not have to worry about language and cultural barriers, and can be confident they are getting the legal service they need.
