    Gabriela Raful Elected President of the Berks County Bar Association

    Gabriela RafulGalfand Berger, LLP is pleased to announce that Gabriela Raful, Senior Partner at the firm, has been elected President of the Berks County Bar Association (BCBA). Gabby has been active with the BCBA for several years and sat on the Board of Directors from 2017 to 2019. The BCBA members elected Gabby to be their Vice-President last year and this week, she was elected President. She is the youngest President of the Association and the first minority to ever hold the position.

    The BCBA awarded Gabby its 2017 Presidential Award of Merit in recognition of her extensive pro bono work and contribution to the community. That same year, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court appointed Gabby to the Monitoring and Evaluation Team of the Language Access Advisory Group, where she advocated that courts remain open to individuals who are deaf, hearing impaired, or speak other languages. She continues with this role in making sure individuals have access to interpreters in the judicial system.

    In 2018, Gabby was one of only 11 attorneys to be selected by the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) for the PBA Leadership Institute class. In acknowledgment of her commitment to non-profit communities, the PBA awarded Gabby its 2019 Pro Bono Award for volunteering legal services for indigent and disadvantaged individuals needing experienced representation. In 2020, the Berks County Community Foundation selected Gabby to join its Board of Directors where she promotes philanthropy and helps improve the lives of residents in Berks County.
