Galfand Berger Celebrates Mexican Independence Day

October 8, 2012 – Galfand Berger attorney Marla Soffer shared information with the Mexican community about workers’ rights during the annual Mexican Independence Day celebration.  This festival, organized by the Consulate of Mexico and the Mexican Cultural Center, took place on the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing on September 16, 2012.

This date is significant because it is the exact date when Father Miguel Hidalgo declared Mexican independence from Spain 202 years ago!

Marla is Of Counsel at Galfand Berger, LLP. She graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Urban Studies and Spanish.

Fluent in Spanish, Marla is a frequent lecturer in community programs that focus on the rights and safety of workers as well as personal injury matters. She serves as a consulting attorney to the Consulate of Mexico in Philadelphia, and is on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition.
