$450,000 Pre-Trial Settlement for Injured Mushroom Farmworker
Case Summary:
Our client, a mushroom farmworker, suffered crush and fracture injuries when his arm was caught and pulled into rotating farm equipment while in the course of his job.
We filed suit against the owner of the mushroom farm that provided him with the unsafe equipment that lacked necessary safeguards to prevent against the known hazard of rotating mechanical parts.
Our client underwent extensive medical treatment and numerous surgeries to heal his complex crush wounds and fractures injuries, but the damage to his nerves and muscles left him with permanent pain and sensitivity at the site of his left forearm injury.
Outcome:
The case was litigated through the time of trial and ultimately settled for $450,000.00 prior to the start of trial.
This case was handled by Galfand Berger partner and product liability attorney, Brooke Elmi.
