We are proud to announce that Partner Farhan Ali has been named as a recipient of the Rising Star Award by the South Asian Bar
Association of Philadelphia, or SABA-Philly. The Award is reserved for early-career attorneys, or legal professionals under the age of 40 who have been practicing for fewer than 10 years. Award recipients like Farhan are chosen because they demonstrate a broad range of high achievement in their practice area, leadership, innovation, legal and community service, as well as commitment to diversity and inclusion.
SABA-Philly will be celebrating this year’s Award recipients at its annual gala, which is being held on Thursday, September 25th.
SABA-Philly consists of nearly 250 members in the Greater Philadelphia region. The organization makes up a chapter of the South Asian Bar Association of North America, which has membership into the thousands. The South Asian Bar Association of Philadelphia’s mission is to strengthen the city’s rapidly growing South Asian legal community with professional development and growth, community empowerment, and advocacy for diversity. SABA-Philly actively participates in mentorship, networking, and skill-building opportunities, dispenses legal information connects members of the South Asian community with crucial, pro bono legal services, and works to ensure equal participation in the legal profession and greater representation for South Asians in the judiciary.
Since joining Galfand Berger in 2016, Farhan has exemplified the ideals that each Rising Star Award recipient must demonstrate. For example, Farhan serves as the First Vice President of the Board of Directors for HIAS Pennsylvania, a non-profit providing legal aid to immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers from all different backgrounds. He also volunteers as an Arbitrator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and serves on Temple University’s Law Alumni Association, supporting alumni through both career and community initiatives.
Farhan’s steadfast commitment to community outreach and service efforts is by no means new; in fact, while obtaining his Juris Doctor from Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law, Farhan served as the Secretary of the Student Bar Association and President of the South Asian Law Student Association. As a Partner at Galfand Berger, Farhan has successfully secured several significant recoveries through tenacious and empathetic advocacy, fighting on behalf of those injured in automobile accidents, construction accidents, and premises liability incidents.
Please join us in congratulating Farhan Ali on this recognition. If you would like to learn more about Farhan, contact a representative of our firm online now.
