  • Galfand Berger Represents Victims of Workplace Explosions

    Background

Galfand Berger has been retained to represent victims of the R.M. Palmer Chocolate factory explosion in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Our firm just filed the first lawsuit of a surviving victim.

On March 24th, our client was making a delivery at the R.M. Palmer Chocolate factory in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Minutes later, he would lie under several feet of brick and rubble following an explosion at the factory. He suffered severe burns and other traumatic injuries.

Workers, contractors and business invitees smelled gas and notified R.M. Palmer.

Galfand Berger’s Senior Partners Richard M. Jurewicz, Michael M. Malvey, and Gabriela G. Raful filed suit on our client’s behalf. They filed the civil action in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia. This is the first lawsuit filed on behalf of a workplace survivor for injuries sustained in the chocolate factory explosion. The lawsuit names as defendants UGI Utilities and R.M. Palmer Chocolate, and its affiliates and successors, Confectionery Real Estate and Confectionery Purchasers, LLC.

Galfand Berger has been helping victims of workplace explosions for over 75 years. We extend our sympathy to the victims and families involved in the R.M. Palmer Company factory explosion. Injured victims not only have Workers’ Compensation claims, but may also file claims against third parties whose negligence contributed to the explosion. Family members can also file wrongful death claims for their emotional trauma and financial loss. Workers, loved ones, and even neighbors in the West Reading community who were impacted by the explosion have legal rights and options.

Our firm stands ready to help as we have with many other workplace explosion injury victims throughout our history. With a track record for success and our experienced legal team, we have secured millions of dollars in similar cases. https://www.galfandberger.com/verdicts/products-liability/36-million-recovery-fatal-workplace-explosion/
