Arthur Bugay is a partner in Galfand Berger’s personal injury department. His fierce advocacy has resulted in substantial recoveries for firm clients. And, this advocacy has earned Arthur a place in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and a 2010 spot on the Pennsylvania Super Lawyer’s list. A noted author, lecturer and Ironman enthusiast, Arthur is an advocate for disabled and injured children and for the elderly. He is an active volunteer for the indigent and received the Award for Outstanding Service for the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project. He provides volunteer legal services to the Legal Clinic for the Disabled, serves on the Board of Directors for the Disabilities Rights Network and has raised thousands of dollars for the American Diabetes Association and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Marc S. Jacobs is a senior partner at Galfand Berger. He concentrates his practice on representing and protecting disabled workers. Marc lectures throughout the state, and is contributing editor to PBI’s book Handling a Workers’Compensation Case. He is a former Chair of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Section, and served on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. Marc served as the liaison to the Philadelphia Bar Association Board of Directors for the Workers’ Compensation Section, and is Chair of the Section’s Martha J. Hampton Memorial Award. He also serves on the Governor’s Committee on Proposed Rule Amendments to the Workers’ Compensation Act. Marc has previously been selected to Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2006, 2008, and 2009.
Galfand Berger Managing Partner, Debra Jensen, consistently achieves significant results for her clients, representing individuals and families experiencing loss as a result of medical malpractice and nursing home errors. She also helps victims of employment discrimination and sexual harassment. When her fellow partners unanimously elected Debra as their Managing Partner in 1999, she became one of three women who were the top managing attorneys at Philadelphia law firms. Debra holds memberships in the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, American Association for Justice, Pennsylvania Association for Justice, Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and the National Employment Lawyers Association. Michael Malvey is a partner in Galfand Berger’s personal injury and labor departments. In 2010, Michael was named to the Rising Star list for a fourth consecutive year by Law and Politics Magazine, which recognizes the top young attorneys in Pennsylvania. Michael is an experienced trial attorney and has worked on some of our firm’s most significant cases resulting in multi-million dollar recoveries for our clients. Since joining the firm in 2002, Michael has handled a wide variety of matters within the personal injury department, including automobile accidents, premises liability cases, construction site accidents, products liability matters and medical malpractice cases. Michael also represents the United Steelworkers, and other unions, in various federal labor and employment cases.
Rick Jurewicz represents people injured by unsafe products and defective tools, equipment, and machinery. As a trial attorney, he is Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Rick holds memberships in the Million Dollar Advocates forum, Outstanding Lawyers of America, American Association for Justice, Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Academy of Trial Counsel. He previously has been selected to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyer’s list for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Rick has recovered more than $100 million for his clients and, in 2007, he had two of the twelve highest Pennsylvania recoveries. Not only has Rick been selected for the seventh time to the Super Lawyer list but also received the distinct honor of being selected as one of the top 100 lawyers in Pennsylvania for the second year in a row.
Henry Yampolsky is a senior associate at Galfand Berger. Since joining our firm in 2006, Henryhas been practicing in the areas of personal injury litigation, employment discrimination, workers’ compensation and labor law. He is a member of the team of Galfand Berger lawyers who in the past four years have obtained some of the largest, multi-million dollar recoveries in Pennsylvania. In 2010, Law & Politics Magazine in conjunction with Philadelphia Magazine, recognized Henry as one of the top young attorneys in Pennsylvania, naming him a Rising Star. An immigrant from the former Soviet Union, Henry is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian and remains active in the Philadelphia Russian-speaking community. Henry is one of the founding directors of the Russian-Speaking Professionals Network and he is Vice President of the New World Association of Immigrants from Eastern Europe.
