The award was presented during EILS’s annual fundraising event, “Celebrating Hope for Immigrants: Rooted in Resilience,” held at the Esperanza Arts Center in Philadelphia. The signature event brings together community leaders, advocates, supporters, and immigrant families to celebrate the strength and perseverance of immigrant communities while raising critical support for legal services that help individuals and families build safe and stable futures. This year’s theme, Rooted in Resilience, highlighted the courage of immigrant families and the vital role trusted legal representation plays in helping them navigate complex immigration processes and pursue new opportunities.

EILS recognized Michael Malvey with its Champion Award in appreciation of more than a decade of board leadership and steadfast support of the organization’s mission.

A respected trial attorney and law firm leader, Michael has supported EILS since 2013, including more than seven years serving as Board Chair, and continues to serve on the organization’s Advisory Council. Throughout his tenure, he has been a passionate advocate for expanding access to legal services and strengthening EILS’s ability to serve immigrant families throughout the Philadelphia region. His commitment reflects a deep belief that access to justice should be available to all members of the community.
