Philadelphia Products Liability Lawyers Discuss a Field and Brush Mowers Recall Due to Burn and Fire Risks February 7, 2017
The cause for the recall is a product malfunction that could cause consumers to suffer burns or could start indoor or outdoor fires. The defect is in the product’s fuel tank. The fuel tank can expand, allowing for vapors or liquid gasoline to release into the air, initiating a fire. The recalled field and brush mowers were manufactured by Country Home between October of 2015 and July 2016.
It is the responsibility of Country Home, and other product manufacturers, to ensure that their products are as safe as possible for consumers. Although no injuries have been reported yet, there is a serious enough risk to warrant a widespread recall on Country Home’s field and brush mowers.
If you own a Country Home field and brush mower that was sold between October 2015 and July 2016, please discontinue use immediately and store the product in a reasonably safe area. You have the option to contact the company and have a technician sent out to perform the necessary replacements and repairs, or you can be sent a repair kit. You also have the option to return the mower and receive a product refund as well.
It is important to keep in mind that the product has a serious defect that poses a fire and burn risk, and to use extreme caution in the storage of the product until repairs or a return is made. If you own a different model of the field and brush mowers, and are concerned that it may also be affected, please exercise caution, and contact the manufacturer with any questions you may have.
