  • Galfand Berger Attorneys Honored by The National Trial Lawyers

Galfand Berger is honored to announce that five of our attorneys— Arthur Bugay, Debra Jensen, Rick Jurewicz, Michael Malvey, and Peter Patton — were selected for inclusion in The National Trial Lawyers.

The National Trial Lawyers is an invitation-only organization composed of the premier trial lawyers from across the country who exemplify superior qualifications as civil plaintiff and/or criminal defense trial lawyers. This national organization provides networking opportunities, advocacy training, and the highest quality educational programs for trial lawyers.  Invitees must demonstrate superior qualifications, leadership skills, and trial results as a legal professional.

We are honored to have five of our attorneys recognized by The National Trial Lawyers, when invitation to this group is limited to top 100 attorneys state-by-state or region-by-region.   Below is a glimpse into their biographies which makes it clear why Arthur, Debra, Rick, Mike and Peter have earned this recognition.

Arthur Bugay is a Partner in the law firm of Galfand Berger. His practice areas include Products’ Liability, Construction Accident litigation, Personal Injury litigation, Negligent Security, and Employment law. A noted author – with articles appearing in respected treatises and periodicals – Arthur is also a regular presenter at Continuing Legal Education seminars and has taught at Temple University and Moravian College.  He currently teaches Products Liability law at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.   He is “AV” rated as an attorney by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates’ Forum.

Debra Jensen has achieved significant results for her clients.  She represents individuals and families experiencing loss as a result of medical malpractice and nursing home negligence.  She also represents victims of employment discrimination and sexual harassment. As a Senior Partner at Galfand Berger, Debra contributes to the firm’s core values and mission.  When her fellow partners unanimously elected Debra as their Managing Partner in 1999, she became one of three women who were the top managing attorneys at Philadelphia law firms. With well over 150 million dollars in verdicts and settlements to his credit, Rick has been responsible for achieving some of the largest recoveries in Galfand Berger’s history. Such notable results include a confidential $36 million dollar settlement, $12 and $8 million dollar settlements for two paraplegic construction workers and $10 million and $5 million dollar recoveries for burn injury victims.  To learn more about Rick, read his full bio.

Michael Malvey handles a wide variety of cases within the personal injury department, including automobile accidents, premises liability, construction site accidents, products liability, and medical malpractice. As a Senior Partner with the firm, Michael has been a member of the team of Galfand Berger lawyers who have obtained over $75 million dollars in settlements and judgments and attained some of the largest, multi-million dollar client recoveries in Pennsylvania.  Michael’s proficiency in Spanish has been a great asset in representing members of the Hispanic and Latino communities throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
