Partner Michael McGurrin, Esq. recently presented at the 23rd Annual Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Conference, hosted by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry’s Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, at the Hershey Convention Center.

Michael’s session focused on the proper and effective administration of Workers’ Compensation claims relative to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), the Unemployment Compensation Law, and privacy concerns. Participants learned about the interaction of Workers’ Compensation relative to employment laws, understanding complex litigation, and employer/employee responsibilities.

Michael concentrates his practice on Workers’ Compensation, Social Security disability, employment discrimination, and labor law. He represents clients before Workers’ Compensation Judges, the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board, and the Commonwealth Court. The Pennsylvania Bar Association Section on Workers’ Compensation Law, as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, certifies him as a Workers’ Compensation law specialist. He represents labor unions in matters such as collective bargaining, grievances and arbitrations, the National Labor Relations Board, and federal court.
