    Galfand Berger Sponsors Berks Community Health Center’s National Health Center Week

Spearheaded annually by the National Association of Community Health Centers, or NACHC, the weeklong event is tasked with raising awareness and celebrating community health centers across the country. With just over 1,400 community health centers nationwide, NHCW also honors the staff, board members, and other supporters of community health centers that provide critical medical services to nearly 32 million people each year.

    Berks County commemorated National Health Center Week with two different Community Day events in Reading, Pennsylvania. Our firm hosted tables at both events, which took place on August 4th and August 10th. Berks Community Health Center’s NHCW events were free and open to all members of the community. Both events featured activities including health screenings, music, information tables from the local community, health, social services, and government organizations and representatives, raffle prizes and refreshments.

    Community health centers provide a range of important healthcare services to individuals who might otherwise face obstacles accessing them. Berks Community Health Center operates three locations in Berks County; each of these locations assist in reducing barriers to healthcare like financial cost, distance, language, and lack of medical insurance.
