$185,000 Payment for Herniated Disc

Case Synopsis:

A 64 year old claimant worked as a stacker. His job required constant and repetitive lifting. Normally, claimant had help on this job but on the date of injury he working alone and he felt a sudden sharp pain in his right shoulder going into his neck.

Claimant was eventually diagnosed with a herniated disc. Claimant became depressed as a result of his injury.

Outcome:

We recovered $185,000 for our client and, importantly, settled this matter prior to our client's retirement. Had the matter settled after claimant retired, he would have been ineligible to receive benefits and would have received a reduced pension.
