  • Marla Soffer Presents Program on Workers’ Rights

    March 18, 2013 – Acción Colombia, in collaboration with Esperanza, Galfand Berger LLP, and Philaposh, on March 14, 2013, presented a program on Workers’ Rights and Employer Responsibilities.  The seminar was for workers and business owners.

    It was hosted at Esperanza, 4261 North 5th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was free and open to the public.

    Marla Soffer, Esquire, of Galfand Berger LLP, participated in the program. She presented information in Spanish, about minimum wage, overtime, discrimination, workers’ compensation and workplace accidents. Other topics discussed at the meeting included workplace safety and OSHA standards and regulations for different industries. At the end of the program, attendees had an opportunity to discuss individual matters with the presenters.

    Marla graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Urban Studies and Spanish. She received her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law and has been practicing for over 30 years.  Fluent in Spanish, Marla is a frequent lecturer in community programs that focus on the rights and safety of workers as well as personal injury matters.  To learn more about Marla, read her full bio here.
