Arthur Bugay Receives Award  from the American Diabetes Association

September 9, 2009:  Arthur Bugay, products liability litigation partner at Galfand Berger, LLP, received an award and trophy from the American Diabetes Association in recognition of his fundraising this year in memory of his mother, Margaret Bugay, who died in August, 2008 from diabetes complications.

Arthur has already raised over $10,000.00 for the ADA and continues to fundraise this fall.  Arthur competed in two marathons and several other running races, along with several open water swimming competitions as part of his fundraising efforts.  He was team captain for the ADA’s “Tour de Cure”, a metric century bike ride on May 31.  He is a team captain for the Philadelphia “Step Out” Walkathon, a 5km walk, scheduled for October 3, 2009, at 8:30am (registration), at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

On July 26, 2009, Arthur completed the Lake Placid Ironman, an endurance triathlon event consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike through the Adirondack Mountains, and a marathon (26.2 mile run), 140.6 miles, in 14 hours, 5 minutes, as part of this fundraiser.  He will be completing two marathons this fall as well.

On September 9, 2009, Edward Mcilvaine, presented Arthur with an award recognizing his efforts as the top individual fundraiser for the ADA in the Philadelphia region.
